Linda E. McKinzie, LCSW
As a student and teacher in the field of social work and psychotherapy for the past 25 years, I understand that a safe environment allows one to deal with the pain accompanying isolation, depression, anxiety and loss. The goal of the therapeutic relationship is to provide a comfortable and authentic place for this to occur.
I use a relational, psychodynamic approach, as well as a variety of other theories and techniques, to support clients through growth and change. This means I am interactive, present focused, and aware of the complex influences in life that contribute to complicated problems. I draw from a variety of perspectives to incorporate what will be most helpful for my clients.
I work with adults and adolescents struggling with difficulties in their relationships or exploring feelings of sadness, anger or anxiety. I also work with gay and lesbian concerns, and personal growth.
I enjoy working with therapists providing clinical supervision for licensure and consultation.
“I believe the greatest gift I can conceive of having from anyone is to be seen by them, heard by them, to be understood and touched by them.” –Virginia Satir
