License and/or Certifications: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Philosophy:

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and am working towards becoming a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). After working in an agency setting for over 4 years, I decided to move in the direction of private practice in order to keep growing into a more authentic version of myself, both personally and professionally. For me, personal is professional and I feel most satisfied with my work when I can present myself as I am, while adhering to professional boundaries and ethical guidelines defined by my profession.

With clients, I am warm, curious, engaged, compassionate, relatively transparent (when appropriate), intuitive, accepting, gentle, well-attuned, and present. The good news is that the feedback my clients give me confirms that they feel safe, fully accepted and understood when in sessions with me.

Needless to say, these do not mean that the therapeutic relationships I have with my clients are always nice and smooth. Like any relationship, therapeutic relationships have their ups and downs as well. However, I would like to reassure you that, on one level or another, it is all okay and having challenges in our therapeutic relationship can be potentially beneficial as long as we are willing to use these moments to repair what has been broken and/or ruptured.

Although I cannot promise that our therapeutic relationship will always be smooth, I can promise that I will do my best to listen compassionately, strive to understand you from your perspective, take full responsibility for my words, assure you whenever appropriate, help you clarify your values, assist you in discovering the sanity within, help you learn more effective ways to move through this life in ways that do not create extra suffering and, most importantly, help create a therapeutic environment in which you can gradually become more of who you are and practice how you want to be in your life.

Note: The letter “C” in my name sounds like a “J.”
