Philosophy:

Coming to this profession later in life, after years of personal work in therapy, I have a deep appreciation of psychotherapy as a space where transformation and change can occur. I do my part to create this space for my clients in the context of the therapeutic relationship. Safety, trust, confidentiality, openness, non-judgmental attitude, patience, and kindness are some components of it. It is a container where all emotions are welcome. I have worked with clients with traumatic histories, struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, fear of death, grief and loss, and spiritual crises.

I invite my clients to slow down and encourage them to bring dreams to sessions and to engage their intuition, imagination, playfulness, sense of humor, and creativity in any form to tolerate uncertainty and tension and to let the psyche find its way. It is not an easy process and I don’t take my clients’ pain lightly.

My background as a pediatrician adds to the understanding of human development and biological factors, and my various life experiences, personal struggles, multicultural perspective, and years of studying Jungian psychology help me appreciate depth, tragedies, and complexities of human experience and understand different points of view. I conduct therapy in English and Russian.
